My work · Expertise
Four threads, one conviction.
Every program I build rests on the same belief: people do their best work when they feel seen, cared for, and free to bring their gifts. These four areas are where that belief shows up most.

01 · Area of practice
Leadership & Organizational Design
A community’s values become tangible in the way its everyday structures work.
I bring clarity to the connections between people, responsibilities, decisions, and communication: who owns a next step, how support is reached, and how an organization learns from experience.
I lead relationally and with clear goals, grounding decisions in research and close observation, and building on the strengths and talents of the team.
Experience
- Leading an upper school of 284 students and 37 faculty as Associate Head
- Strategic planning, faculty development, and crisis management for a school division
- Monthly faculty meetings, designed and led
- Master schedule design and management
- Zero-based budget development and management for a six-figure, revenue-generating summer program
- Faculty salary budgeting for an upper school of 37 faculty, set each year in partnership with the business office
- Academic records, transcripts, and college admissions support for high school students
- Chairing a writers’ conference committee on inclusion and belonging
- Independent school consultant with the Southern Association of Independent Schools, guiding schools through reaccreditation: assessing strengths and gaps, and shaping strategic plans for the next four-year cycle
- Policies and procedures that streamlined a 400-student summer program
- Communication, support, and safety frameworks for volunteer-run events

02 · Area of practice
Culture & Belonging
Belonging begins with the possibility of being seen, and the willingness to see one another more fully.
I design and facilitate reflective workshops that invite people to examine their perspectives, listen across difference, and consider how a community makes room for its members.
Experience
- Workshops for parents and families
- Faculty institutes, designed and led
- Identity workshops for faculty and staff teams, including an IT department exploring how their distinct identities make a stronger team
- Affinity programs for 450+ middle school students and 100+ conference writers
- Cultural celebrations and heritage programming, including Black History Month
- A service trip to Johannesburg, South Africa, for 20 high school students
- An educator exchange with rural hill-tribe schools in Chiang Mai, Thailand

03 · Area of practice
Learning & Program Development
Learning takes shape when people have something meaningful to notice, question, and try.
I design workshops and learning experiences around a clear purpose, an invitation to participate, a chance to practice, and time to reflect, drawing on classroom teaching, educator development, and school and program leadership.
Experience
- Designing and directing a K-12 summer program for 400 students and 30 faculty
- Full student retreats for high schools, designed from start to finish
- District-wide professional development on writing instruction, curriculum design, and course mapping
- English curriculum for a new high school’s first 11th and 12th grade classes
- College composition at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
- Virtual and hybrid learning, designed and taught through two years of remote school, 2020–2022
- Professional growth workshops for faculty and staff, on team performance, identity, classroom management, and learning environments
- Creative-writing lessons where photographs open the way into character

04 · Area of practice
Story, Voice & Connection
A story offers a way to see a life more fully, and to reconsider how we see one another.
As a writer and conversation host, I create space for reflection, complexity, and human connection, attending to lived experience and making room for voices beyond my own.
Experience
- Personal essays on identity, belonging, healing, and place at Elnora Life
- A hosted conversation series that keeps each guest’s voice at the center
- Selected faculty, 2027 Literary Spotlight Series, with a session on identity and story
- Two decades of teaching literature, including AP Literature and Composition
- Story-centered workshops built on a shared question, image, or experience
